About Dr. Martin
Dr. Robert Martin is a highly regarded surgical oncology specialist based in Louisville, KY. He received his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Louisville Hospital. Dr. Martin further honed his expertise through a fellowship at the prestigious Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, specializing in Surgical Oncology and Hepatobiliary Surgery.
Dr. Martin's contributions to the field are underscored by his extensive publication history, with over 100 publications to his name. He is particularly renowned for his proficiency in pancreas resection and ablation, liver resection and ablation, as well as his expertise in treating esophageal cancer, gastric cancer, sarcoma, and complex gastrointestinal malignancies.

In 2007, Dr. Martin published one of the first studies for microwave ablation of liver cancer. He has been one of the driving forces for the last two decades to create laparoscopic ablation ablation as a standard of care option for patients.
In 2012, Dr .Martin published the first human pilot study assessing IRE treatment in pancreatic cancer. Since then, dozens of studies have reported on pancreas IRE.
